I've written a song about a woman in love with a statue.
Here are the lyrics. Any comments/suggestions are welcome.
.
She stood there, frozen
Still as the mist surrounding
Staring
Ever watching
A Figure cast in Stone
Any other day
She would dance
Entertain
Graze wispy fingers
Across The Statue's brow
Any other day
A longing glance
An adoring whisper
A subtle kiss
Upon dulled marble lips
Any other day
Her love would flourish
But today just ain't the same
Today just ain't the same
An angry fist beat against
The Statue's stone chest
As hot tears drenched her face
She roared
She wailed and she roared
'Oh god, I love you so'
'Oh god, I love you so'
And crumpled to the base
(Today just ain't the same) [repeated in the background during this next verse]
And she rose
Balled her hand to a fist
Struck out
Making contact on the lips
Oh, but to her surprise
A crimson hand returned
And blood dripped down
From The Statue
And the mouth cracked open
As a gentle voice spoke out
'Oh god, how I love you so'
'Oh god, how I love you so'
The Statue reached out a stone hand
And wiped away the tears
She stepped onto the platform
Held The Figure in her arms
And as they kissed
They grew set in stone
In a frozen embrace
Still as the mist surrounding
Any other day
Any other day
But today just ain't the same
Today just ain't the same...
